Brief Description of the project:
The project’s idea was born in a direct symbiosis with the context in which we had to design: Ostiense street, cradle of the roman industruial architecture, symbol of a neighborhood in which the architectural elements have a dialogue with the city through the use of the steel: the Gasometer, the iron bridge, the Montemartini powerhouse and the railway tell about how their rawness and coldness succeed to become the symbol of a time in which the technique was the base of a technologic and architectural experimentation.
So the project’s idea born as an attempt to take contact with the neighborhood’s executive tradition taking his heritage and translating it.
With this intent, we choose a dry construction with steel structural elements assembled according to a constructive process mindful of an assembly line. Is like a naked skeleton whose elements, identified in “iron K tie-rod”, put in honest evidence their nature, trying to represent a past modernity, an innovation that re-use the known principles in order to come to undiscovered set.
