-FINALIST of HEALING Competition
It is a global challenge to reconsider the way we interact and move around the city to maintain social distancing when it is necessary. In order to avoid the radical, crowded and centralized city model of Buenos Aires, we propose a decentralized urban mobility plan which can adapts to the surrounding buildings.
The aim of the project is to provide a positive solution for the urban mobility in quarantine cities, designing a device which can measure people flows and designate the best path for each user using different colours as a tool. Although citizens are given all the elements they need to move around the city, the device aims to reduce to the minimum the interactions with other people and avoid agglomeration. Furthermore, the core of the proyect are the beacons: a tower prototype designed as a main station and located in the city in order to make neighbors reach them by walking or biking distance.
Understanding people flows and requirements of modern life is the only way of achieve a real transformation on the mobility pattern and go through pandemic scenarios while the city moves on.
