Though Shandong has a rich heritage of industry, culture and tourism, the trend of rapid urbanization is taking over Shandong, posing threat on its indigenous communities’s nourishing local culture and crafts. For that, there is a huge possibility that the future generation may never have any memory of its local cultural assets. So, the project aims to empower the local villagers by giving them an appropriate platform to live, work and exhibit their unique crafts to the tourists by promoting community based eco-tourism. This territorial scale egalitarian park does that by dividing the park into 8 distinct districts, each focusing on an unique element of Shandong’s cultural heritage, such as:- The fossil district, craftsmen district, herdsmen district, fishermen district, organic farming district, flower district, wildlife sanctuary and a new addition of up cycling-recycling district, creating spaces within inspired from ancient Chinese landscape paintings. The tourist and forest trails with necessary amenities allow visitors to explore the vibrant park while the peripheral cable-car route with watchtowers offers breathtaking views. The amenity waters with resort clusters act as both activity hubs and rainwater storage protecting the valleys from flooding.
