– FINALIST of REVIVING MINES: SHANDONG PARK Competition
When the passage of time and the human footprint erode places, landscapes take on a unique nature. The mines have the particularity of being human alterations in direct contact with the landscape. By detecting the places of opportunity the project is approached through a landscape and programmatic acupuncture. Connecting places of interest, fostering interaction with previously inaccessible landscapes, offering places of insertion of social and architectural programs, and supporting the ecosystem that already exists.
In this sense, the project seeks to expand accessibility to all local groups that wish to use the place, while turning the existing landscape into a visually attractive facility for tourists and curious onlookers.
In opposition to the ‘constructive dynamics’ of mines, the proposal seeks a dialogue with the landscape with practically no permanent trace.
This is the place where it is possible to expand diversity, invention, a refuge territory with the richness and disorder of the mix. It lacks the order of the primary landscape but contains the biological future.
