Living in the modern world, where the water just flows from the tap, we rarely ask ourselves where it comes from and how much it costs. Water is an abstract category for people of privileged societies. The project is an attempt to bring the abstractness of water to physical level. It is a literal translation of a crucial necessity into a clear and visible object.
The design proposes a dominant structure of a water reservoir, a central urban element, where every citizen is aware about the whole circle of water, its quantity and the rest of it. The new symbolic element is visible from everywhere. It becomes a symbol of the time, a ringing bell, calling for our consciousness. The reservoir also represents a spiral promenade, where people walking along huge walls go higher and higher, enjoying the views of the city.
The cylinder water reservoir is connected through pipes with all houses, where every tap has a sensor showing how much water was used and the rest in the reservoir. The sensor analyses the consumption by each citizen, helping to increase awareness, building the new community responsible for the future. Because nothing else but understanding and awareness bring responsibility.
