The proposal inculcates the concepts of modularity, biodiversity, and sustainability, tying it all up in a skyscraper. The proposal is composed of various modules arranged together around a central courtyard. The main circulation of the skyscraper is all along the central courtyard thereby proving to be a naturally lighted and ventilated space. The central courtyard acts as an air column thereby ensuring the continuous flow of air.
The structure is made up of bamboo rather than the traditional steel-concrete composite thereby enhancing the concepts of biodiversity and sustainability. Bamboo will also act as catalyst to the growth of biodiversity on structural members, etc.
The proposal is composed of modular units, each in the form of a square pyramid with stepped terrace garden and planter boxes acting as separators. Each module is designed in a way to house the various proposed functions (retail, commercial and housing). Each module can act self- sufficiently to house these functions or can be combined with other units to create a bigger space. The modules can service their green spaces individually thereby ensuring their continuous maintenance. The completely porous built form will allow birds, etc to fly through and house themselves in these spaces rather than acting as an obstruction for the sky biodiversity.
