The Conifer soon to be the synonymous polestar to ‘sustainability’, is an organic growth of nature herself. The design finds its location beside the Bryant Park, Midtown Manhattan. With synthetic material, structural integrity of sponge in amoebic porous forms, much like its fungal relatives, over the two towers with superlative thought given to climatic domains, it will literally harbour pure biodiversity bearing plants on it. Much like the nectar dripping down, the façade of the Conifer amplifies the impact and reduces its footprint; in tandem with bridges composed and recomposed of hygroscopic materials that absorb the peripheral climate and recreate a microclimate in the most pristine of conditions as well act as green links. The Conifer will be built on the tenets of survival and dependence we share with Mother nature, the relationship now attaining radical symbiosis.
