The project proposes the creation of inclusive spaces that recall work to reason, to the middle of our lives and to the middle of our cities. Nested with other activities, it becomes diffuse, oscillating and dispersed and the emerging spaces are neither workplaces nor living spaces but both at the same time. It, then, gave birth to an open architecture, with ambiguous identity, which we know it is impossible to master the multiple contextual dimensions. Architecture would no longer be meaningful but projective; everyone could project their own meanings into it.
What problem does it solve?
The idea is to question the work both in its nature and in its location. Hyper functional and temporal concentration linked to the industry of the XIXth century, pushed the work towards these unique places, companies, to better preserve it from the rest of the world. We work to forget to look up at the window, that’s the truth. But the health crisis we are experiencing and the advent of digital technology are questioning the legitimacy of perpetuating the logic of industrial employment. Relocation, desynchronization, the lack of dichotomous naturalness between private and professional life no longer needs to be. And it is on this instability that this project is oriented, a singular objective, to bring work back to an experience prior to the Fordist revolution – when the profession and not the job was primarily a personal accomplishment.
