Designing a House Based on the House-Place Relationship for Today’s Citizens in the Historical Core of Isfahan City
Our main concern for the design of today’s house, which can improve the quality of the event in the past architectural space in the existing historical context, has been to redefine the negative space while maintaining the introversion of the house.
Therefore, due to the advancement of technology, something must happen, and that is the increase in the power of flexibility and the interaction of the house with the way humans are present in the space. In other words, if the courtyard was fixed in the past and the people changed their location around it in search of the desired light and quality and acted as a variable element, in this project it is the opposite and with a different definition of the courtyard, the modern man remains constant and the courtyard changes to take advantage of the ultimate spatial quality at the desired time and place. In this case, the power of the spatial organization and its richness are increased and the quality of the space and landscape changes every time. So, the project comes to life like the second human body and offers a changing life and a different biological quality to the human being.
This floating yard provides the user with different qualities of light, the relationship between inside and outside, spatial hierarchy to adjust it in a desired way by changing the movement of the boxes – living room in the north and south direction and bedrooms in the east and west direction – on the rails connected to the structure. The service uses are fixed due to the installation needs, and the yard provides a share of light, sky and landscape to fixed and variable spaces at different times.
