Urban environments are already facing density and lack of resources as a challenge to overcome. Consciously aware of these issues, Stardust is a new memorial of death typology, that embraces the future to come by reducing the use of space to commemorate the loss of our loved ones. The ceremony starts with the launch of the transportation spacecraft. The corpse inside gets incinerated reusing the engine’s combustion for travelling and the ashes are kept in a docking capsule which will be attached to the main satellite. Once the capsule arrives to the satellite in outer space, it will deploy a sunlight reflective system which will create an artificial star. The Stardust satellite can be tracked from Earth and the loved ones can spot the star from anywhere around the world. An app can be used to notify onlookers when Stardust will be visible. After death a star is born.
