What happens when every drop of your own sweat towards the better world becomes

the currency to buy what you NEED?

What happens when there is no raw material to produce or factories to pollute?

What happens when dump yards become landscapes of dreams?

What happens when the products take birth to blossom and die in hope of reborn?

What happens when Utopia becomes a reality?

The intensification of a global brand.

#Ikea #Corporation #Globalization #City #Lifestyle

‘I shop therefore I am’ is the quintessential assumption of this project. Consumption defines society, determines identities, creates public spaces and dominates our daily life. In contemporary society the structure of daily life is defined by patterns of consumer behavior. Every activity is linked to a buying action all wrapped neatly in the mixed use building typology. We go to our doctor through the mall, we live above the shopping boulevard and we ride the train through a field of kiosks and cafés.

In the same time, as we sanctify the mixed use typology, we enjoy the comfort of global branding. Global corporations are redefining the concept of the product, they don’t just sell you a pair of shoes or a bed, they sell a life style. Penetrating their way into every aspect of life, Ikea is the precise physical example of that. As one looks at Ikeas progression in consumer society we can predict its infinite growth into every aspect of daily life.

‘Ikea- Life Itself’, imagines a hyper realistic life where we live, work, learn, eat and consume in Ikea. This model of consumption creates an exaggerated mixed use building where consumption and lifestyle dominate life forever.

The Solo Shopper is operated entirely through automation.  It is equipped with an interface, called Your Shooper, that is designed to remove the hassle of a typical shopping mall experience. No busy stores or walkways, no stress of being unable to find your size or perfect piece of clothing, no unwanted interactions. Single-user changing cubes make up the majority of the physical building, which is designed for modularity, easily resizeable based on locational demand.  All retail stock is housed in the basement, organized, sorted and distributed by robotic arms. Within the cubes, shoppers are provided with a screen – connected to Your Shopper – where they can browse their favourite brands.  A 3-D scan is taken of their body, allowing Your Shopper to narrow down stock available to them based on size, as well as allowing the user to virtually try on items. From within the cube, the user can select which items they want delivered to them.  These items are collected by the robots and sent up to the shopper, using a track system that runs through the grid of cubes, and a shute in the floor to deliver shoes.  Users are able to purchase items then and there, with the option to have Your Shooper ship items to their home. The Solo Shopper caters to those a typical mall does not while integrating the inevitable technological advances of the future.

Description:

FARMARKET is a farming-retail combined space, an expandable system that can grow in size and intensity. Maximizing the potential of urban farming, FARMARKET can first take over existing shop buildings. Later, a bio-mimicked form replace the conventional rectangular box structure, and starts to connect and expand. Depend on the number of these tree-like “hubs”, FARMARKET can produce and sell different types of vegetables and fruits to the community. Furthermore, it showcases the process of growing and producing, revealing the story behind and intends to be educational.

A SHOP FOR CLOTHES

THE LESS is an alternative to the act of buying. In our world the textile and clothing industry is the second most polluting industry, and creator of modern slavery. Enough clothes are present in the world to dress all humans for years to come. This hyper-consumerism of textiles and clothes in the occidental world is linked to a capitalist system, that lacks kindness and respect for the universe.

Starting from this contemporary issue, we ask what if we were not defined by what we own, and thus inverse the question of property.

The Less is a journey, a quest for a better understanding of the need (or unneed) for new pieces of clothing. The project deconstructs the typology of the clothing shop into its basic elements, and as such questions their utility and meaning within the capitalist system. A map presents the journey towards The Less, an ethereal place that takes shape in a space without advertising, without the noise of consumerism and can lead us to understand that our contemporary industry of clothing is destroying lives and life. Arriving at The Less connects us to the true meaning of property, its connection to a natural world of kindness.

Where your treasure is, your heart will be also – Matthew,6:21

Hashtags: #yeIsRisen #churchMerch #keepingUpWithTheKoran #askAndYe_ezy_ShallReceive #blackFridaysMatter #blessed

Description:

In early Christianity, the Iconostasis was a screen that separated the nave from the sanctuary of a church, a role now usurped by iPhones, pervasive advertising, and social media. Religion and consumerism are now two sides of the same coin, with a consumeristic form of life performing the religious function of providing man with fleeting answers to the existential problem of meaning. To elaborate, consumption today is more than simply buying goods: it is a means of circulating symbols, meanings, identities, and belonging. Thus, like religion, consumerism is reinforced as a symbolic language. The use of this ‘language’ has enabled the creation of man’s personal identity, and is therefore tied to humanity’s quest for authenticity and expressivity.

With dying malls being turned into churches, and abandoned churches being transformed into nightclubs, one further questions the inextricable nature of these two primary forces that have dominated the Anthropocene. Iconostasis acknowledges (and celebrates) humanity’s suspension in these commercialized webs of significance that it has spun for itself. Perhaps the answers to our social, existential and transcendental questions lie within these complex webs. We must ask – should we worship www.amazon.god with reverential awe? (*all introspection to be posted on Twitter).

A breakthrough in shopping reinvesting commuting times

#HASTAGS

#smartcommuting #Squeezeyourtime #grocerySubway #bushop #abcabinets

DESCRIPTION

Everyday we experience the same time-consuming routines while commuting. It is widely perceived as one of the most purposeless acts, nontheless, we spend increasingly hours both commuting, and making our daily trips to the grocery shop. What if the time spent on either subway or bus didnt go to waste?  We have come up with what could become the ABC of commuting!

We propose an easy, on the go, way of doing your gorcery-shopping for all basic needs, while commuting. It is projected to offer different types of shops for the most various needs: from clothing stores to supermarkets, electronic and stationary stores; though this bussiness model could be tailored for whichever other retailing purposes. Different subway or buslines could be timetabled according to the various needs, giving you different shopping choices within the same routes; you may hop on line 146 at 18.00 whose supermarket offers you the option of buying shaving-cream, or choose subway line G at 18.02 for some late mothers-day gift buying in the bookstore train car.

Store cabinets are modular structures, aimed to be fitted according to the retailing purpose; consisting of single, double or triple 70x70cm easy-assembling cabinets, made of wood and metal.

Transit Exchange Hub of Madrid

#hashtags: #FlyToMe #DronePort #LiveLocationDelivery #PackageFleet #MagneticFlow

Description:

The aim of ‘Buying’ will be to shorten the time of delivery by pushing the time efficiency to its limit. Drones will be flying over the cities, once the regulations are approved. It will be possible to buy goods in a very short time and receive it on your current location. Our project takes place in Plaza de Castilla station, Madrid – where the biggest flux of people and traffic in the city is happening. The drone-port is one cantilevered truss element made from steel, statically approved, connecting the old transportation system – three metro lines, with the futuristic ones – drones. The lockers containing goods, are being transported with robots from the warehouse to the special metro carriage. Once they arrive, the robots lift and connect them to the drone-port structure. Before they are stored, it is possible for a person to come and pick the order on the go. The moving lockers’ system is working in 2 layers – using magnets, by changing from positive to negative ionization all the time; and by storing the lockers until the drones pick them. This circulating system is completely sustainable as lockers are reused, returning to the port and the center.

The light, levitating architectural element is the focal point from which all goods are being delivered – and they are landing on your palm!
