We’ve seen everything we had on our Netflix list, we baked anything we could eat, we dusted off old puzzles and board games…what next?

Next we focus on learning something new, something we’ve had on our mind for a long time. We’ll learn another language, finally start coding, maybe work on our website, and try to understand its data analytics! Next, we’ll invest our time in developing the skills we believe will help us unleash our full potential.

1. DISTANCE LEARNING
A new frontier, and a whole NEW CHALLENGE FOR EDUCATION. But also a wake-up call for who believed Distance Learning would never really work. Indeed it works, especially for hard skills, highlighting how in person education and experiences are so important for developing our soft skills, bringing a renewed value to it.

2. AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHALLENGE
Many of us have been suddenly pushed in virtual classrooms. At first confused, we’ve also found its SILVER LININGS, and so did the academic community.  Pushed to find new ways to teach and engage their students, teachers had to challenge what they gave for granted and start designing new education formats.

3. A NEW ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL
The Online Learning experience has proven it is possible to RE-THINK ARCHITECTURE EDUCATION, not only as it is developed and taught, but its very structure and certification structure, allowing for multi- and inter-disciplinarity to re-enter our training paths and make DESIGN THINKING what we learn and how we learn.

4. ARCHITECTURAL COURSES
With online learning we can explore and engage with all sort of new skills that can actually enrich our professional activity, enabling each of us to carve its own path and build a SPECIFIC EXPERTISE. From Circular Economy for the Built Environment to Parametric Architecture, our WiFi is the limit.

5. DIGITALLY GLUED
A rather interesting initiative was developed by the students of Rice University, whose studio was partly based on the production of physical models. So what do you do when you can’t build them anymore? You build DIGITAL MODELS OF THE PHYSICAL MODEL, of course….

And what a better way to develop our creativity and challenge ourselves than enrolling to our competitions!
The Regular Registration period is ongoing for both our competitions, HEALING – ALTERNATIVE DESIGNS FOR QUARANTINE CITIES and SOCIAL DISTANCING HOUSING BLOCK, until July the 18th.

Keep on learning!
Veronica
