Pollinators, providing plant reproduction, perform the most important ecological mission, which provides majority of the world’s biodiversity. Pollinators are critical to maintaining both natural ecosystems and secure humans with food. Man-made disturbances to habitats are creating problems for pollinator communities, including significant biodiversity loss.
The North American wildlife population is declining. What can we do to help?
By creating wildlife habitat gardens, we will positively affect the lives of bees, butterflies, and birds. Native bee species restrict their diets to specific plants. Backyard birds depend on thousands of caterpillars supplied by native plants. The caterpillars of butterflies and moths feed on the leaves of native plants. Each species has its own host plants.
The Beelding is a skyscraper that is a home for pollinators and birds. This skyscraper is a vertical wildlife habitat garden with a wide range of pollinator-friendly plants, flowers, and trees native to the New York state. The location of this special building is 1km from Central Park, thus, the Beelding also helps to create corridors that connect urban green spaces in the city into the greater ecosystem.
Humans also are welcome to enjoy a stay in this beautiful green space filled with buzz and birds singing.
