As architects, we often think about function and practicality when designing a building 🏗️. But have you ever considered the aesthetic aspect of architecture? 🤔 It is a crucial element in architecture that can elevate a building 💪 from merely functional to truly remarkable.
Aesthetic in architecture goes beyond just making a building look pretty ✨. It involves creating ✍️ a harmonious and cohesive design that considers the surrounding environment 🏙️ and the intended use of the building. Aesthetic elements can include the use of colour 🌈, texture🤚, and forms 🔺🟨 to create a visually pleasing and cohesive design. But why is aesthetics important in architecture?
The dictionary meaning 📝 of AESTHETIC is “concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty” while the dictionary meaning of architecture 🏛️ is “the art or practice of designing and constructing 🏗️ a building.
