NonA Weekly: LIMITLESS CREATIVITY 🤯
Dear readers and friends,
Artificial Intelligence 🤖 will make an architect’s work significantly easier by analyzing 📝 the whole data and creating models that can save a lot of time ⌛ and energy 🔋 for the architect. All in all, AI can be called an estimation tool for various aspects while constructing 🏗️ a building.
Artificial intelligence can now make better art than most humans. Soon, these engines of wow will transform how we design ✍️ just about everything. For the first time in history, humans can conjure up everyday acts of CREATIVITY on demand, in real-time ⏲️, at scale 📏, for cheap 🤑.
2. WHAT THE EXPERTS 📣 SAY ABOUT AI IN ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
Just as we were warming up to the idea of the Metaverse 🌐, Digital Twins and NFTs, hyper-realistic images that looked like they were right out of an architect’s DREAM 💭 began floating on the internet. These seemed like they took weeks to perfect and render, but this was not true – these images were generated in a matter of minutes ⏰ or a few hours, at most.
3. HOW MACHINE LEARNING 🤖 CAN CHANGE THE WAY WE APPROACH DESIGN
Advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning are often perceived as a threat to the CREATIVE process 🎨. But at Foster + Partners, the Applied Research and Development group is rethinking 🤔 this mindset and embracing machine learning 🦾, not to replicate or replace designers, but to enhance our knowledge, instincts, and sensitivities, free us from routine tasks, and to optimize and push the boundaries of our designs 🤯.
4. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE APPLIED TO CONCEPTUAL DESIGN – A REVIEW 📋 OF ITS USE IN ARCHITECTURE
5. AI IMAGE GENERATORS, AN AMAZING POTENTIAL 🦾 TO SHOW THE UNEXPECTED
What if there was a tool aiming to transform language into PICTURES? 🖼️ That is exactly what models like Midjourney, DALLE-2, and Stable Diffusion are trained to do. It is not yet a three-dimensional construction-ready design 🏗️, but it is an amazing leap forward.
6. WILL AI 💻 TAKE OVER ARCHITECTURE?
The biggest potential of DALL-E in ARCHITECTURE is the potential to bridge the gap between imagination 🧠 and visualization 👀 with its ability to create and edit. In its current rudimentary form, it can add and remove elements while taking shadows, reflections, and textures into account.
7. AI TOOLS FOR ARCHITECTURE 🏛️
The recent popularity 📈 of Artificial Intelligence imaging tools such as OpenAI’s DALL-E 2 and Google Research Image has raised new questions about CREATIVITY and artistic integrity. These tools ⚒️ combined with the parametric design of buildings, or with the reproduction of interior designs can be incredible 😲 for the sector.
