After the disaster of 2011 the Fukushima power plant and surrounding cities had to be evacuated. It was a catastrophe that made us reevaluate the risks of cheap energy. Today we understand the need for new, efficient methods to gaining clean energy more than ever before.
If research of green technologies is accumulated in one place, innovative solutions could be reached much sooner. This is why our proposal is a modern university specializing in solar, wind, water and nuclear fusion energy. With this research the university will attract futuristic companies that are eager to turn its concepts into prototypes. Over time, Fukushima will create a reputation enabling it to revive the surrounding region with its futuristic ideals. By attracting companies, which in turn create jobs, Fukushima University will become the heart of a self-sufficient Metropolis fueled by scientific revelations.
A clean energy focused university would learn from the history of Fukushima and become the forerunner of a cleaner tomorrow. If Fukushima forced everyone away, why not make it the reason for people to return?
