ANTHROPOTOPOGRAPHY

 

This project suggests a complete reinterpretation of the oil platforms in the Arctic. A large amount of metallic material is scattered across the landscape, their assembly could create a new speculative topography – a human topography – that serves the proposed program, which includes scientific research about remaining species of the future and storage for biological samples. This new topography would also serve the ecosystem itself. Floating, it will grow and participate in the ice sheet by projecting cold water pumped from the depth onto its topographic roof. It will drift, grow in the winter, shrink in the summer, and live.
