-HONOURABLE MENTION of Archi-Hack: Oil Platform Competition
Sea level is rising, land is lost and productions decreased. The rig redefines Power Station in the future as an electrical source with charged salt water, simultaneously producing food supply. By moving production to the sea, basic necessities can be produced with close proximity.
The Power Station parasites on an abandoned MOPU (Mobile Offshore Production Unit) that extends vertically with recycled rig structures.
The energy-renewable-marine infrastructure comprise of three divisions: SET (Salt Engine Tower) that produces alternative energy source, SSD (Salt Storage Division) that stores and exports batteries, and EFD (Experimental Farming Division) that grows climate-resistant plants extending the food supply chain and by being off-grid, a block-chain server stores information and data of the system, ensuring the viability of production remotely.
The suctioned salt water flows through a closed-cycle system vertically which converts processed salt water into mega-batteries and fresh water for the EFD. The salt water waste will then discharge back into the ocean to regain its natural properties.
The exposed infrastructure gives a visual impact that expresses novelty, sculpting anew form of revitalization and showcases interweaved innovated systems. Its flexibility, mobility and resiliency enables it to expand as a novel energy oriented urban city with nature-based solutions.
