Architecture gives possibilities; inhabitants observe and incentivize each other.
Not only is MADEme complex in Wrocław a mixture of modern buildings with recreational open-air elements, but also a great construction which persuades residents to do sport inside – in front of their apartments. They can integrate there with neighbours on the corridor which may turn into a gym or a place to rest. Furthermore, inhabitants have to pass this area to reach their flat; observing people doing sport incentivize them to do the same. Dwellers can also play a “Five senses sport game” that convinces them not to choose elevator, but stairs. What it more, settlement is friendly for families. Mothers and fathers can do a workout while taking care of children in a specific places inside as well as outside.
Estate consists of two multifamily houses and immense area for recreation and rest; e.g. a pond, hills, a barbecue zone, courts, not to mention a playground combined with the outdoor gym, etc. Moreover, buildings are surrounded with a two or one level track that creates a possibility to start jogging right after leaving a flat. What is more, it enables easy access to the Odra river embankment, where are special paths for runners and walkers.
