What is O.L.P.?
O.L.P. Operation: Lost Places
Operation Lost Places (O.L.P.) is a system consisting of cubical accommodations with a minimal amount of equipment that provides maximum comfort, just enough for a overnight stop or a temporary stay at any place on our planet. The cubes lodge themselves in edges of empty sites and canyons in landscapes like living parasites in order to “rescue” places, which seems to be uninhabitable or irreclaimable at rst.
There is a headquater in every region that manages the cubes. The guests can select the desired places directly from home via an internet portal.
The cubical form was chosen because it symbolizes a perfect and ideal solid. It can be seen as something accomplished – like the last piece of a puzzle or a bridge which connects two ends. The big ternary glazed window on the front side stresses an open-minded world, something welcoming and cozy inside. It allows the guest to enjoy a great and unlimited view. Of course, privacy is guaranteed when lowering the veneti- an blinds.
How does O.L.P. work?
The standard equipment of the 5.3qm room is furnished with a bed with storage place (for luggages, shoes and bags) underneath, a hinged table for laptop etc., and a hook for clothes.
The wall-integrated sound boxes, air conditioner and the adjustable indirect lighting supply an individual comfort for everyone.
The staircase which leads to the room(s) is a skeletal construction made of steel and steel ropes.
Instead of a conventional key the guests will be given a code in the con rmation e-mail which they have to type in the entrance monitor in order to enter the room. The code will change after every usage and is only accepted on the speci ed date.
The modern era provides realtime booking by means of the internet. Therefore, the rooms can only rented online. So called packages and extra service products will be suggested as soon as one has chosen the de- ned place. For instance, the guest can pro t from a week-end sale for two nights or by selecting a earlier departure time.
Furthermore, there is an option to rent a room as subscription. This could be of advantage for commuter or someone who has his or her work nearby but wants to have a comfortable and quiet place to rest at lunch break.
The minimum period to stay is 30 min. Every hour afterwards can be added as upcharge as long as there is no other reservation right after it.
Where is O.L.P.?
Moreover, O.L.P. provides a network with world-wide companies by sharing the standard equipment incl. packages etc. and building partnerships and sponsors. Hence, the rooms can be rented and redesigned by entrepreneurs to their own use.
O.L.P. is an on and on developing system, just like an organism that pursues to live.
