The refugium is a common dwelling in a dense city. it can be built in parks, empty plots or the surrounding areas of the city. during lockdown it can host up to 62 residents who do not have the spatial circumstances at their place. for example homeless people, people living in shared flats, lonely people. each refugium is one community. Up to two people can live in a private cell that offers minimum private property. for this reason the shared space located in the middle of a floor is generous. a place to work, cook, eat and enjoy each other’s company. nobody should feel alone and everybody should feel safe. there is no traditional circulation, just one central stair connecting the levels. Therefore the space is either private or shared.
