-EDITORIAL PICK of SOCIAL DISTANCING HOUSING BLOCK Competition

 

The project is targeting those who were forced to stay overseas because of the border shut down. And while maintain an ability to work from home and keep a privacy in social distancing, the project developed to small units that is transported by the track connected to the floor plate.

Public areas were mainly on the ground level where ventilation is achieved. Kitchen and entertainment units were placed, along the open sunken theatre. The middle two levels offers two kinds of units other than the living ones, where study and relaxation is supported. The top level offer larger exercise units.

Overall the protects aims to illustrated a would that if quarantining is suggested, and social interaction in crowd indoor is not encouraged, what is the best way to live comfortably and not feeling lonely. When the two units connected, two participants would be able to communicate in a protected shelter.

As a group of students, some of us had been separated from our classmates and friends because of the pandemic, thus this project is dedicated to a building that if was built would reunite us and keep us safe.
