-EDITORIAL PICK of Waterless World Competition
Fake news, Real science/
In June 2019, a video claiming that NASA has developed a rain generating cloud machine went viral online. Although such machine has not yet come to life, the concept of cloud seeding is not entirely non-sense but based on a very simple scientific process.
Guess what happens when the engines burn liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen? You get H2O! Ultimately, the engine exhaust produce “clouds” as a by product and when the water vapor condenses, it actually form drops large enough to fall as what it appears as “rain”. That being said, cloudseeding may be the future of freshwater shortage!
Welcome onboard, Voyage in the borderless horizon/
We are S.T.E.A.M! (Sustainable/ Terrain/Empowered/ Assimilating/ Machine) 5 steampunk, 250 members, 223 nationalities. Imagine a new knowledge network in the sky where people from different disciplines can work together in this alarming global water crisis. Rainfall can be scheduled, freshwater harvesting can be planned ahead. This new water supply chain provide solution to any extreme dry condition, no matter urban or rural ; it is a joint effort that will evolve and grow with collaboration. Are you ready to be on-board?
