Has the idea of fuel-free space flight ever crossed your mind? It is thought to be one of the greatest achievements for a lower type 2 civilization. As we have found traces of life in the depths of Europa’s oceans, now we want to closely examine them. ‘Space Urchin’ is a uniquely engineered spacecraft that needs only water to run its refillable hydro fuel engine, which will be collected on her way as she flies through the asteroid belt leaving our little moist life harbouring rock far, far away. Inspired from the unique evolutionary adaptation of Leeches, which survive on the life force of foreign bodies, our sea urchin-shaped spacecraft collects water topped in hydrated minerals from asteroids to burn as fuel, to create waterwall which both nourishes a vegetation layer and acts as a protective radiation shield and for life support. She has tentacle-like “Haustoria “containing serrated blades which can cut through and mine water from any type of ice deposit. As she follows biomimicry patterns of a long-surviving animal, it’s not only light and durable but also designed to be reusable, saving the expanse of heavy launching fuel from the earth.
