This was the new normal.
A better reality to the one we had before.
A more slow paced lifestyle – untouched by the resource draining lifestyle.
‘All it took was a pandemic.’
The simple realisation that how a self sufficient city can bear it all – a pandemic would perhaps be a slight push towards destabilisation but never enough to let the system crumble.
A constantly evolving system where most of the basic primal human needs are met right within the city, by the citizens, for their fellow citizens.
A co-dependant, strong willed workforce, filling up the new norms of work from home system – but one which wouldn’t push a person to the tedious grind of work and sleep.
The pandemic brought out the worst in many of us – imprisoned in the dark corners of our minds, where we struggled to survive – so the city evolved. It travelled back in time, to nature – it broke down its concrete walls , broke down our mind prisons to replace them with the wonders of nature.
Perhaps it was a new beginning or maybe it was a restoration of the old ways – but one can never forget that all it took was a pandemic.
