The outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic forced many businesses to shut down their offices to prevent further spread of the disease. It caused many companies to resolve this issue by permitting their employees to work from home, thus, every business activities have been operating online since then. However, work from home results in various problems which leads to unproductive, inefficient and depression among employees.
The design is a revolution of future public space as co-working space to provide solution to those who having inconvenience of work from home. It proposes a working space of 1X1 metre which will occupy public space in residential area, hence the name ‘WorkPod’. It is a self-sufficient pod that generates electricity from the solar panel attached to provide power supply, Wi-Fi connection, lighting, air-conditioning and computers. Security is guaranteed with each user will need to verify their identity to gain access while safety is assured as the pod is installed with UV-C LED sanitizer to ensure hygiene is maintained.
WorkPod can be reached by walking distance will be a positive significant contribution to mental health and the local economy as people starts to go out in public with their privacy is ensured.
