-FINALIST of FUTURE PUBLIC SPACE Competition
Already 40% of the population suffers from water shortage, the percentage is constantly increasing. The 21st century will be the century of the struggle for water, and for you, respecting it is still not a priority? The development of the industry has significantly increased water consumption and pollution. As a result, society gets rid of a valuable resource. We live in the belief that it is inexhaustible and having no knowledge of its further path. The project focuses on tackling the problem of wasting water. The role of the proposed system is to collect rainfall, but the key element of the project is its location in the public space. This will help draw attention to the problem and make the public aware of the importance of saving water and collecting it. The system of structure in the city is that when it rains, the intelligent material stretches, thus becoming a reservoir of water in the city that can be used by residents for various purposes. The structure becomes a huge inverted umbrella for the entire city that instead of protecting it collects rainwater, allowing it to be used. The water surface above the city makes it an UNDERWATER CITY.
