The Imaginator is based on the belief that imagination is the best way to bring people across. While dwelling in imagination you enter a world that is foreign to everyone, regardless of any background. It’s a welcoming gesture for a generous city.
The Imaginator was conceived as a path that starts along the banks, winds up through an imaginative tower, goes to the other side of the water and descends there again another imaginative tower.
On the ground floor the towers are a unique place to stay at the shore. The walls serve as a guide for the cycle path that meanders temptingly and alternately inside and outside the tower and so slowly brings you into another world.
The Imaginator’s towers are a spatial canvas charged by interventions by various artists. It is possible to anticipate through an annual change of artists in an ever-changing social context that can attract a great diversity of people. Sometimes in silence, sometimes overwhelming, with sound or with color, flat or spatial, fixed or mobile, connecting or questioning, but always with the perspective of one different world.
