If architecture is the examination in which the form is produced, this park enables the development of multiple forms, which will spring from the needs of public life and citizens.
The landscape proposal is constructed on 2 main ideas: music as Karditsa traditionally promotes culture and the large artificial lake, centrally placed in the square, pedestrian passage that connects two different sides of the park.
Above the lake there is a large circular area, resembling a water lily, for multipurpose uses such as music concerts, open-air cinema, luna park, flea area, and sports.
The external zone of the park connects with a cycle path network as the bicycle is widespread in Karditsa. The main entrance of the park is positioned south, where a cafe and a library is placed in the traditional existing building. The square is reference to the existing old military buildings, so the form is more rational contrary to the more natural lines of the park. A botanical garden is created with organic shapes in the West part of the square with a variety of plants as an extension of the existing playground in order to attract and engage the smell and the flower colors to the children’s game. The water element will allow developments of microorganisms that together with the botanical garden will constitute an educational walk. Finally, two small forests are created on the west edge following the same educational process of contact with trees; flowering and nature.
