This proposal seeks to reclaim the balance between the ecosystem and human activities efficiently.
Along the process of real estate development, Hudson Yard is one of the hot spot where skyscrapers grow as part of Manhattan skyline. Yet the potentiality of the site has not been fully utilized. It not only marks the end of high line, but also indicate the beginning of converting the old track field as a water reservoir to prevent flooding and to foster a new sustainable landscape.
The design crafted this new skyscraper as two parts responding to the different environments. The tower is an organic prototype of a continuous landscape, which consist of various programs for urban citizens. The porous shell structure connects the city and the water, providing visitors with access from both sides .
The hyper landscraper consists of a structural and core system, a water processing and distributing system, an enclosure system, and a roof system. On the one hand, the porous structure serves as a water infrastructure and entry platform. On the other hand, the tower provides an elevation for view and a continuous footprint. Through integrating different systems, the porous structure and the organic tower function as a whole for circulation, planting, and program.
