-FINALIST of Re-Draw.04: Centre Pompidou Competition
In this world, mankind has lived for decades and decades. And ever since human exploration begun, the same way outrageous exploitation was born. As a consequence, humanity is thriving into its obsolescence and the fate of vanishing.
Centre Pompidou as a piece of art itself, is in this image estranged from its former context for the purpose of serving another function. The building embodies the functionality of its architecture, as well as preserving it in its design. In this visualisation we see the museum transformed into a producing, filtering and harvesting platform located somewhere in the ocean. In this we project humanity’s endless effort for conversion of material for the benefit of profit, which in the end will always lead to destruction and devastation.
We see the Centre Pompidou as a technical monument. The way we can envision its transformation into many other contexts is just another confirmation of the completeness of its form and therefore the cause of this work.
While nowadays the horrendous resource competition is going on, we all must someday face the reality of our actions until we finally reach the doom of all industry subsequently in the vast future, when the very last of us will have to ask themselves ‘Did We Forget?’
