The project is an interpretation of Piano’s description of this building as a “building which will not be a monument but a celebration, a big urban toy“. The idea begins with looking at the ability of this building to have its elements clipped off and on during its lifespan. This corresponds to Piano’s description of the building as a toy that has elements just like the LEGO toys which can be rearranged at our own will. The modularity and flexibility of the systems and elements of the building are in a position which allows them to play the role of an urban toy.
