Golden Canvas is a concept theatre, an installation arena that explores the dialogue between film, play, and architecture. This is a new center for experimental foreign cinema in Los Angeles.
What if we can change the static film watching and individual ritual of video selection into a continuous screen where we can experience videos or plays in any order and position we want?
Golden Canvas is a gigantic Origami paper hovering on the ground, by using both front and back of this canvas, an white “silver screen” on the interior, and a shiny golden surface on the exterior, creating a diptych theater conditions that the back surface is for movie projections and the front surface is for play seating.
