Public furniture for the freelance culture.
Responding to the fact that over a third of the US workforce is already part of the freelance economy, Work in Leisure proposes integrating spaces of work into public life by using a suite of furniture. These new office objects would combine with existing outdoor furniture—park benches, beach umbrellas, laundry lines. Unlike co-working offices, this collection of furniture enables free, accessible, and mobile spaces for work, defining a new spatial typology in which work and leisure are blurred and even coexist.
