In current times, where the Western World seems to try with great effort, and little result, to review and replace serial processes, repetitive architectures and large-scale systems, it seems even more appropriate to emphasize the principles and advantages of the kind of intervention that made China a country capable of solving problems on a large scale since the days of the Great Wall of China through current times.
The occupation of the flat land of rural China, particularly on the periphery of Shandong, is expanding with a satellite-city logic, starting from the center and melting into the fields and farms.
However, due to its geographical condition and the old mining scenario, the disused territory of Shandong has adopted over time a logic of urbanization in the valleys and mountainsides.
The Golden Path brings the classic architecture tools such as the plane, the line and the dot, in order to give Shandong a new reason to shine again as in its glory days, turning the whole area into a museum where the most alive and unspoiled nature coexists with the most anthropized nature.
