For a long time Amsterdam is trying to create a connection to its northern side and it has proven extremely complex to do so because taking decisions and reaching agreements is difficult. But things cannot be done without decisions.
Our proposal is a light-hearted mockery of this situation where we propose a complex cycle path which is almost as complex as a path to consensus between all the stakeholders that is necessary for a connection between the two sides to finally happen in real life. The statement behind our project is that to connect the two sides one does not need an elaborate architectural solution, but needs some will to do so and architecture will come to cater for this will.
Without such intention architectural proposals are just an exercise in extravagance that does not bring the two sides any closer. Perhaps even pushing them further away by continuously feeding the imagination with satisfying fantasies of the connection that is just a dream that leads the cyclist of Amsterdam to nowhere.
