-FINALIST of Amsterdam Cycling Bridge Competition
Through our narration of the nature of the city of Amsterdam and its geographical composition, we found that bridges are not just an architectural model, but rather a human link and a meeting point for users, and due to the presence of many bridges in Amsterdam linking all the islands of the city, we thought of a major work to link and a point of gathering and linking to different activities Between users to form a landmark for the city and a strong point of attraction for users and city residents, and from here we start with the first point is a link between different urban fabrics to create one unite between the 3 urban fabrics.
The second point is converting the bridge from a link to communication point where the users can enjoy using the bridge to gain more experience and sharing knowledge and talk with others which will help a lot to add a spirit to the bridge.
Its central amphitheatre engages with the city’s rich busking culture, as well providing visitors with a viewing platform or handy shortcut across the river.
Our aim is to increase societal closeness by radically redefining the concept of the home and how it relates to those around it to create a healthy, safe and cohesive community.
