BRXXXDGE is a 1000-meter experience with a climbing percentage of max 6% which offers a continuous flow when crossing the river IJ. By connecting the two ‘half’s of Amsterdam, BRXXXDGE adds huge social-economic values to the IJ-region and continues the characteristic and historical ‘hilly’ landscape of Amsterdam, shaped by bridges and by people being around water.
BRXXXDGE makes you enjoy the Amsterdam waterfront and gives you a beautiful overview of the city. The flow of the path will make it a pleasing and varied experience. The route crosses different public spaces and attractions you can use, all adding to the experience of the Amsterdam river basin.
BRXXXDGE is a sculptural complex including two iconic abutments. At Java-eiland, the abutment is a composition of buildings, inspired by the vibrancy of the river landscape: people, passing boats and waves. On the other site, at Amsterdam Noord, the landing of the bridge is designed as a multilevel park making this abutment the new green heart of the Hamerkwartier.
