–EDITORIAL PICK of Re-Nature Rome Competition
Rome is a complex ecosystem, it is a dense (in meaning) and stratified city, able of changing and adapting. Nowadays Rome is losing the ability of being contemporary and this project could be a chance of reborn.
Today, it is needed to put eco-habitat and consequently the entire Earth eco-system back at the centre, Rome has the potential to be there, at the head of this new development, where animals, nature and buildings live in synergy.
With this project we thought of declaring the definitive death of the modern movement, human being is not the centre anymore, existence is based on complexity, the Darwinian pyramid is replaced by the circumference, where everything is centre and periphery at the same time. The world can only exist if all its elements can work together.
The chosen project site, in one of the most important and meaningful areas of Rome, is a symbol. In the past it was the place where spiritual power and political power came together, while now its purpose is to represent the unavoidable junction between human Urbis and human Naturalis.
Nature is the most important character in the project, able to show and reveal the public space potential.
