-HONOURABLE MENTION of War Cities: Utopian and Dystopian Visions Competition
Our proposal is based on a utopian and dystopian future. The dystopian scenario is a life full of feelings pulling people down, straight up below ground level. The concept is an endless war, the constant destruction of homes and of remaining diversity. People are hiding in the underground and feeling alone, broken, and mindless. A city can’t exist here in any form, only necessary sized isolated cells. The population is controlled by machines, which are closely monitoring all inhabitants. Life turned into an effort to survive. There is no light, no hope, no social connections, no existing memories of a better past, culture, knowledge, only fear and the constant presence of death. In a utopian vision, humans feel uplifted, living in the infinite heights between the clouds, in direct contact with the sky. We tried to capture the reality of never endangered freedom, a state without weight. The earth absorbs the sunlight, penetrating the ground, and filling it with happiness, carefreeness, and warmth. The interconnected objects surrounded by the paradise garden occupy the space minimally, leaving it for other life forms. Everything is in harmony with untouched nature, people respect each other, coexist as one humanity, and celebrate ordinary days.

A delightfully complex image that takes the eye on a wonderful voyage of discovery. Strong narratives and a great use of bold, thought provoking imagery creates a strong sense of the Utopian and Dystopian futures.
