– FINALIST of 2020 Monument Competition
The scarcity of sea water resources is more caused by human destruction. There are more and more man-made wastes in the sea, such as oil leakage from ships, the increase of white garbage and the fishing of Marine life. These actions have disrupted the original ecological balance of the ocean, resulting in increasingly murky waters and Marine environments that have become less and less suitable for animal life. Square is like we designed, simulation of the Marine environment, the left part of the Marine environment is not polluted, it is suitable for the best environment of plant and animal life, but the right is white trash and black of Marine oil pollution, pervious to light and oxygen content is no longer suitable for plants and animals survive, inside is lifeless black, with the passage of time, the right of the pollution will gradually spread to the left, make the whole square becomes cloudy. We want to replace the invariable image of the traditional monument with the physical changes caused by the passage of time, so as to make the monument vivid and attract more people’s attention.
